Introducing Shelburne's Horticultural Society

Have you ever wondered what your local horicultural society was? Or what their monthly meetings were about?

Some people have the impression that Horticultural Societies are just for professional gardeners.

NOT SO!! The Shelburne & District Horticultural Society is a great group of people that welcomes all newcomers regardless of your skill or knowledge. If you love plants and gardening you will enjoy this group. Our current membership is 60 members and we would love to see it grow.

We usually meet once a month from March - Nov on a Monday evening. Please see "Upcoming Meetings" for specific dates.

Our meetings include a question and answer period, a guest speaker, refreshments and fun draws. Often there is some type of featured plant for sale and of course, there is lots of socializing about our favorite topic - Gardening!

There is a yearly bus trip planned to visit some of the most spectacular gardens in southern Ontario! You always come away with a few more ideas that you want to add to your garden, and we usually find a green house to stop at on the way home to pick up those "gotta have them" plants!

The Shelburne & District Horticultural Society has been a member of the Ontario Horitcultural Association since 1962.

Our official emblem is the hydrangea which we adopted in 1986.

Come join us for an evening, we would love to have you.
