About Us

The Shelburne & District Horticultural Society has been a member of the Ontario Horticultural Association since 1962.

Our official emblem is the hydrangea which we adopted in 1986.

We are a not for profit, volunteer organization.

We a great group of people that welcomes all whether you are a newbie or a seasoned gardener.  If you love plants and gardening you will enjoy this group.  We live in a zone that can make gardening a little tricky, learn from those that have "been there done that".

We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of most months from March - November, please see "Meetings" for specific dates and topics.

Meetings include a question and answer period, a guest speaker, and fun draws.  Often there is some type of featured plant for sale and of course, there is lots of socializing about our favorite topic - Gardening!
Come join us for an evening, we would love to have you.

The Shelburne & District Horticultural Society maintains many of the beautiful gardens in the Shelburne community.

Here are some of them:
  • Flower beds at the entrance signs to the town
  • Cenotaph at the Town Hall
  • Shelburne Public Library
Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering to help with the care of these flower beds.
